There are 2 factors that have to be considered when deciding between round or flat waxed shoelaces. First would be the look you want. Flat waxed shoelaces are a tad bit more elegant than round shoelaces. Second would be the durability. Due to the solid core that the yarn is woven around, round shoelaces are more durable than flat shoelaces, which are woven as a tube. So if you are looking for a classic but durable pair of shoelaces for your boots with lacing hooks, we would opt for round waxed shoelaces. The company Senkels was founded due to personal needs. As a bespoke shoemaker, you craft shoes and boots from very diverse leathers in many colours. After putting all this time and work in a pair of shoes, it would be sad to save on the quality of shoelaces, right? The problem was, that the offering of shoelaces was very limited. There are many “brands” trying to sell their shoelaces, but at the end of the day, they all have the same Chinese production facility focusing on quantity instead of quality.
To change this situation, Senkels was founded. We focus on highest possible quality, the biggest possible colour choice and both elegant and durable metal aglets.
